Improving access to education and better implementation of the Right to Education in schools

As part of this program, JOSH has been working in 20 government schools in East Delhi. The work entails working with school authorities and the community of parents to monitor implementation of the RTE Act. JOSH’s work covers- mobilization of the community on issues affecting the school and the children, conducting training and capacity building sessions for parents and School Management Committee members, regular hand holding of the school authorities to facilitate better redressal of grievances arising at the school level, making school visits and tracking of budget spending and lastly identifying systemic issues faced by the schools and undertaking advocacy with the government for redressal. JOSH adopted an EDMC school in Trilokpuri. Various things were donated to the school like Projector, Tubelights, Fans, Softboards, books for students.
