HUSNA
Breaking Barriers Silently: Husna’s Story
Husna is a 23-year-old from Trilokpuri who lives with her parents, grandmother, two brothers, and a sister. Her journey with JOSH started as a volunteer when she joined a basic computer and English course. That’s where she found out about the Youth Leadership Program and decided to join quietly—without telling her brothers. Her brothers were strict and didn’t allow the sisters to study or work. But Husna, with the silent support of her mother and grandmother, kept going. She would often sneak out with help from her friends or make excuses to leave the house.
Even though she once dreamed of becoming a police officer, lack of support held her back. Still, that dream gave her the courage to stand for herself. Through JOSH, she gained confidence and started helping others know their rights. Today, Husna is a strong, committed volunteer who inspires other girls in her community.
